This product completely satisfies me. I've been taking on average about a thousand pics a week for about a year now and started with no more than a point & shoot/compact camera 2 years ago. The raw capabilities make my life so much easier. It's a little on the light/chins side to the feel, but it's sturdy and durable as can be without the excessive weight. I was going to buythe t2i, but decided to save money and get an extra lens with my camera(75-300mm). I made the right choice. The quality is amazing. I've never taken a bad quality pic with this camera by any fault but my own. The video function seemed unnecessary to me but it came in handy many times. Quick shutter/response. Amazing auto functions if u use it, including "creative auto" which gives ur pictures a more creative color etc. Love it. Reccomend this to everyone.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: feels chinsey but isn't

Satisfied with my purchase

This is my first Digital Single Lens Reflex camera and so far, I am happy to have chosen Canon. I owned point-and-shoot models and I can not tell you how many I have tossed in the trash. I am a novice to photography but I am already receiving compliments on the quality and detail of my photos. I even received a few requests for weddings and other social activities. I did not realize the potential of a couple pictures on the internet would have and I believe it will open up some doors if I take full advantage of the possibilities. At the moment, I am only using my Canon Rebel T3 for nature, wild life, landscape and family photography.
The camera is very user-friendly. The very moment I opened the box, I could easily identify most of the functions. The button-layout is comfortable and the menu is self-explanatory. There is one minor issue I have and its not so much a bother but I do find that when switching from LCD mode to Live View mode, its a bit close to the shooting option/self timer button. In some cases when taking night landscaping shots, I will accidentally hit the wrong button.
I would highly recommend this product for anyone interested in photography for casual or professional use.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

When I went to the store and explained what type of photography I wanted to do, the sales person recommended a Canon 60D. When I held the camera in my hand I was very overwhelmed by all the settings and features. I'm a beginner so I wanted something that was simpler and yet still had amazing quality. I almost went for the T3i but I don't really like the rotating LCD (though I understand its advantages.)
I went with the T3 even though it didn't have self-sensor cleaning (which was a bit important for a novice like me) because I saw the amazing quality of the pictures & it's possibilities through Flickr. My main hobby is shooting pictures of my dolls (Asian Ball Jointed Dolls) and I thought this would be the perfect way to start getting into a more advanced camera than a point and shoot.
It is a very easy to operate camera. I do recommend for people to read the manual and get familiarized with settings. The camera itself has a guide which clearly explains what each setting does. It makes playing around with different options very fun. The kit lens is pretty good too. I was a bit skeptical since some reviewers said it wasn't that great but I have been able to achieve sharp, colorful, and vivid photos so far (in my learning curve.)
Automatic settings are decent though you can achieve a sharper, better outcome by tweaking some simple options. The camera starts up fast, processes very quickly, and is overall a great performer.
The live view more is a bit confusing (for me) but after some reading and understanding the mechanics, it's very useful (though I still prefer the viewfinder - which is decent in clarity.)
Auto focus is very good. However the lens is a bit louder than I expected.
I haven't yet tested video.
Battery life is very good.
Overall I found that I made the right choice for my first dSLR and the price is perfect for a camera with it's features and image quality.
Pros: good picture quality, fast start up & processing, ease of use, decent lens for beginners
Cons: loud kit lens, no self cleaning sensor

I am happy with my new camera!

This is my very first DSLR Camera. I am very happy with the camera and its performance. I would say tho, it is a little heavy for me, due to having issues with my hands, being that said, I take a tripod with me for assistance. I have had this camera for only a few months, and have used it numerous times, and have taken professional style photos. I hope that this helps anyone who is thinking about buying one, its worth the money spent!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

For my 1st DSLR it's well worth the price.i just got it a few days ago and am very happy with its performance. It will take me awhile to learn all the features on it. I also added the 75-300 mm lens as well. Worth the extra money for the zoom. Tonight I was playing with the macro lens, have never used one before. My photos actually turned out pretty good for not knowing anything really about macro photography. Love the size of the LCD screen, not too big or too small. Only thing I wish it had was a "color selection " like some other name brand models. Also it is a little noisy compared to others but its not annoying. Had it had this I would have given it 5 stars all the way cross.
Pros: Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, noisy

Good for Amateurs but Couldl Be Better

I bought this camera and in my opinion it's a very good investment especially if you are an amateur photographer. The main cons would be that the flash flashes twice before taking a photo (it flashes every time it focuses) and I really don't enjoy how pictures turn out with flash. However, it is a lightweight camera with in-camera editing if you're on creative mode and it is very easy to use.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy, the flash flashes twice before taking a picture
