Best first-time bought DSLR

My wife is taking better quality photos with this camera than a professional photographer is of the same football games! And... she's a complete novice! Way to go Canon! This is an awesome first-timer DSLR camera! I am totally impressed!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

This camera is an amazing camera, i bought one the other day and i am so impressed with it. I took a picture of the moon the other night and the quality and the sharpness was amazing. i would recommend this to anybody that would be interested in buying their first DSLR camera.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use

Awesome Camera

This is my first DSLR camera and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to transition into the DSLR world. Canon is a globaly known company when it comes to great products. They definetly delivered with this one. It takes amazing pictures and does excellent long exposures. Its only a 12.6 MP shot, but honestly, unless youre putting the images on a canvas over 20x24, then it doesnt really matter. I look foward to using this camera for years to come.
Cons: i wish the shutter release button was on the left.

Excellent Camera

I've only had this camera for two months but what a great investment. It didn't take me long to learn the controls, its a bit heavy but I expected it. I immediately bought a telephoto lens to complement it, another great investment, very satisfied. My next purchase will be a micro lens.

Absolutely Amazed!!

I just purchased my T3 today and just as the Title says, Amazed! I have used multiple point and shoots over the years, since I have been able to use a D3100. Let me say the T3 is extremely easy to use and very, very user friendly. If this is the lowest end of the Canon DSLR's then I'm sold! Canon you have found a new Life customer!
Pros: everything
Cons: not enough time to use it!

Just a great deal

Wow what a difference from my canon point and shoot. Great all around pix. Even my wife can use this camera, and she is a first timer to slr. the system made it easier for her to use. She is still unable to do it manually, but she is learning real fast because the camera allows her to do so.

Excellent starter

I am an up and comer photographer. This is the second SLR camera I have owned and the first digital. It is easy to use, with remarkably good quality pictures. It is a comfortable fit and for the price, it can't be beat. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and would gladly recommend this camera to anybody that is learning about digital SLR photography.

Everthing you want from a camera

My SX20IS took a dip in the ocean so I decided to replace it with an SLR. I purchased the T3 with a 18-55mm & a 55-200mm lens. I looked at other higher end SLR's but found that they were very heavy & expensive. The T3 has a very light feel.
Indoor pictures can be taken without a flash up to around 1600 ISO after which noise & lack of clarity begins to be very noticeable. I shoot almost exclusively in P mode which allows me to change everything except aperture & shutter speed.(although you can change the shutter speed/ aperture combination.). The LCD is fairly small & low resolution, which is fine for my usage because I always use the viewfinder except for video which can only be viewed via the LCD. There is no auto focus during video. The focus you set at the beginning of your video becomes the default focus.
I have yet to take a shot that was out of focus, poorly exposed or had inaccurate color. Video quality is very good. Battery life is excellent. Changing settings is very easy using the Q button which displays, & allows you to change the settings that are available for the camera mode you are using.
I can recommend the T3 to anyone without any reservations.
