My first DSLR - i love it.

i just bought the T3 some few weeks ago - and i should say, i love it. it easily replaces my existing sets of Point and Shoots. For the past 15 years - i moved between the other brands as well as Canon Powershot S10, but when i got the opportunity to upgrade, the T3 purchase was a great investment. My daughter who is 10 year old uses this more often than me - shows how easy to use the product.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Dim LCD, noisy

I have been using Canon digitals for about 6 years. I am a yearbook adviser and the cameras that we use are all Canon's, 30D's (2) 60 D (1) and now a T3. I find that this camera has a simple operating system for my students who are just learning to shoot good photos. One of my students who feared to operate it , was pleased to use it and also learn quickly. As a group we can inter change the lenses which keeps the cost down. Thanks Canon for producing the T3.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: cover on the lcd

Had a hard time giving up my film. Glad i did. The camera is good value for the cost. There was enough to catch my attention and stay with it. I was suprized at the picture quality that "this cheap camera" could put out. I have given up on film and staying with this for a few months. Until i am more relaxed with this camera and upgrade to a better body. This will be passed on to a grandchild so they can start. Do your self a favour if you can afford to and buy some good glass as these can be used when you upgrade your camera body. I am having a lot of fun with this trying the different filters and I even have had no problems using this in -40 degree for extended time (5-6 hr.) The battery lasts a decent amount of time. If you are not sure about pictures i would say to you to buy this over a point and shoot. You can do so much more.

Quite the Upgrade

Just what I was looking for to upgrade from the old chemical dependant 35mm! The performance is awesome, from Macro all the way up to landscapes, and everything in between! My learning experience was boosted ten-fold with this beauty!!
I shoot alot of aircraft flights, and the sports setting is the way to go. Crisp, clear and stable shots everytime! With the optional lenses, and filters, no photo is out of reach with this camera.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, instant results of shots

Love this camera

I received the sx30is for christmas last year and wanted a dlsr to add to my cameras. I purchased this one in september(2011). It is fast enough for the pictures I take, sports car racing, roller derby, and takes beautiful landscape pictures as well. I absolutely love this camera. It doesn't have the features like my sx30is, but with photoshop, I can still get the same effects and it does have the creative mode which takes great wedding shots as well.

I bought this camera to replace my Canon FTB SLR camera. This camera is very easy to use but am still learning what some of the things do. It takes very good close up of flowers and animals. I think this is the best camera for the money.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: none

Great if you want to move to SLR
on February 23, 2012

This is an outstanding camera if you want to move from point and shoot to DSLR. I wanted a camera that could give me a better quality photo than my point and shoot and this does the job. I love the auto mode features because I am not an expert and it allows me to take great pictures, especially at my sons sporting events. I also love the fact that I can play around with the settings in manual mode in order to learn more about ISO, shutter speed, etc. so I can get better and get the most out of the camera. I would highly recommend this purchase.
Pros: great quality photos, easy to use
Cons: none that i have found

enjoying the digital slr

I find the digital slr camera a very easy transition from my old slr. the soft wear made it very easy to learn all the fetures. I do recommend you shop carefully to find the best deal. I did learn that you can find the pricing can be very different from one dealer to another.
The canon rebel T3 has sharp clear photo's and is a great camera for low light shooting. Thank you Canon for making a camera of this quality for such a great price.
Pros: great low light shooting, easy out of the box photo's, great entry level / intermediate level camera
Cons: none so far
