What a difference a better camera makes!

For the last 8 years I have been buying a big name point and shoot camera. I have upgraded 3 times in the 8 year time frame (staying with the same company name). Shortly I have a new grandson being born and I wanted to get a new camera...again. In the Sunday ad, I found a Canon point and shoot that caught my eye. I went to the store to look at that camera, but gravitated towards the display of the Canon SLR's. The salesman was so very helpful and showed me everything I wanted to see in regards to this camera. I bought this camera with the 18-55mm lense and also bought the 55-250mm lense and some filters. My husband laughs at me because I tell him I want to take the camera out for a ride!! I love to photograph the scenery on the back country roads, and I love to take pictures of sunsets. I have a little bit of an unsteady hand, but this camera is very forgiving and takes very clear and beautiful pictures. I have put all the old point and shoot cameras away and I am so glad I made the move up to a "real" camera. Thank-you Canon from one very happy photographer!!

Made me a digital believer!

I started taking pictures back while in the Marines. I had been a film diehard and I wouldn't even consider a digital. Well like me my film camera wore out and I was torn between buying another film camera or trying out a digital. Best move I ever made and the quality of the T3 is great! The features are easy to use and if I don't want to set it to auto I don't have too. I can still control the settings my self, but the camera's auto setting does a really great all by it's self. The battery life is great and I don't have to stop to put a new roll in, awsome!

Extremely long battery life

I bought this for my college graduation. However this end up to be my travel mate. Extremely long battery life. I charged the battery for my 2 weeks trip and battery last throughout the trip. Actually it last for almost 2 months!

The 50mm F1.8 lens is a must buy. Excellent in low light, sharp, and awesome bokeh!
The only drawback is its low resolution screen, but that's OK with its price range. May be Canon use this to save power for its long battery life!
The Red and Brown color T3 look pretty nice!

OMG! Im in Love

I have never had a camara that was so easy to use and I am by no means a professional. I have three camaras one film and now two digital. This is my first SLR and I couldnt be more in love with it. I love the portrait settings and the anti shake mech, and the fact that I can change lens and take pretty much whatever I want. I was also surprised to see that it came with software and a how to use software. Very impressive. I Love all the online features that cannon offers. I have been taking photos since I could walk and for me this is one of the best experiences yet. So thank you! Im sure you will top yourselves when I go and up grade my equipment again in five more years. I don't have anythign bad to say. Just keep up the great work!

A Great Purchase

I received this camera yesterday for Christmas and since I have opened the box I have not been able to stop taking pictures. I first picked up the manual which was simple, to the point, and helpful in setting up my camera in a matter of a few minutes. And as soon as I was done easily setting up my personal preferences I was already out and taking pictures of everything! There are three helpful discs that come with the camera and after reading through everything I stayed up practically all night practicing different techniques.
I am completely new to SLR cameras and to photography, but with this camera and the help from Canon I already feel like a pro! I am teaching myself all the technical terms and how to use the different settings, but it is easy to do and just in a day I have already fallen in love with this camera and with the beautiful photographs I have taken with it.
Pros: gorgeous images, auto-focus, fun and easy to use, only takes battery 2 hours to charge, great for a beginner
Cons: doesn't come with a memory card

I've just recently gotten back into photography and all I had was an old point and shoot someone gave me. I upgraded from there to the powershot and then a friend of mine came over with his T3. I tried it and was hooked! The powershot gave me a taste of both worlds as well as a refresher in basic photography (that left me wanting more), so the next month I went and bought one, and I don't quite know how I got along without it. I'm still a beginner photographer and still learning about manual focus, but with this entry level model all you need is a subject to shoot and you'll be off and running.

Great camera for the money

I purchased this camera 2 months ago, and I couldn't be happier with my camera. It takes great photo's, color reproduction is good, and sharpness is good. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

great for a starter

i had bought this camera after reading some reviews and messing around with the display at work. the great options like microchrome, vivid and others are great when doing outdoor shots. I had recently taken pictures for a wedding the pictures came out great. The only problem was there wasn't enough time to take all the pictures that i wanted. To anyone that is seeking a great starter camera this is it.
Pros: great camera, battery life, great options
Cons: motor a little loud
