Poor Control Panel Design

I bought this microwave today to replace a similar GE that lasted for years. I had to buy a microwave today because we use one everyday for many items. The one we had was white but the store did not have white. So I purchased the stainless steel unit. In the store everything looked bright and easy to read. However, after unboxing and installing the unit I discovered that the control panel does not light up and is all black. Can you imagine trying to read grayish numbers on a black background. Why did GE design these on black and not use white numbers? Unbelievable! I like GE but they blew it on this product.

Poor quality microwave - look elsewhere

Bought this in November. In December the light that comes on when in use or when the door is open quit working. In January, the turntable began making a rumbling sound while turning. It still works, but what a poor product for GE to have it's once proud name on it. Very disappointed.

Poor design

It is difficult to read promps on action display. Also, to open the door, a hard push on the opener is required and as a result the whole microwave moves.

Good oven, hard to read control panel

Functionally, this oven is fine. It also fits the space perfectly and looks good. The biggest downside is I can’t read the text in the control panel due to the reflection of the counter on the panel. I can live with this, but it’s the reason for 3 stars and not 5.

Don't like the door opener. It acts like it wants to hurt your hand or fingers. My previous micro wave oven had a handle on the door to pull open. My care giver does not like to use the new model. She suggests I get another micro wave that has a safe door opening system.

Turntable motor out in less than five months

Bought this microwave in July. By November, the turntable was making a very loud groaning and screeching noise that has since only gotten louder, so it looks like I get to replace the turntable motor...if I can find the warantee information anywhere online, which so far has been to no avail.

Started making noise while using

Bought this recently, and within couple of weeks, there is noise when using the microwave. Color from the turn-tray thing is coming off. Wont recommend to anyone. Bad quality.

Had a similar GE microwave purchase in 2008.

I wrote a review on this one after purchase 3/8/18, it looked nice and its forerunner was a good microwave, very similar. However, I returned it 29 days later as the start button peeled and sank in ward, and the microwave made clicking sounds after using. And that was unnerving to me.
