I decided to go with a Samsung tablet because I already have a Samsung phone. I love this tablet. After months of research I am glad that I decided on this tablet.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color

Great for school and business!

This device has much it can do. For example with the s pen I can hover it above the screen while clicking on the clicker to pull up air command. Action memo is my favorite for quick note taking. Multi window is great for multitasking and running two apps at the same time. For school I like to use Polaris office to work on research papers in .docx format. And when I'm at home I like to sit on the couch watching TV while controlling it using watch on. I would highly recommend this device for student/business/entertainment purposes!

Had some issues

So I bought my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition used from a popular auction site. It worked great for the first couple of months. One day I was watching a guitar lesson on Youtube, and it was very laggy, constantly buffering, and generally not performing like it had been. So I figured it was due for a reboot. I held down the screen lock key, which brought up the "Power Off?" dialogue box, and I tapped power off. It looked like it powered off, so I then press the screen lock key to turn it back on. However, the screen stayed black, and a couple of lights on the bottom lit up and then shutoff. It kept doing that repeatedly and never booted up. The battery was near fully charged, so that couldn't have been the issue, but I put it on the charger anyway. It still did the same issue 24 hours later. I even tried a hard reset by holding down the power on + volume up button and that didn't work.
At this point I was in quite a pickle, because I had bought it used, and was pretty sure Samsung would not honor any sort of warranty. So I did some research and found out numerous other people were having the same issue. The issue being it was basically suspended in some sort of partial boot-up mode, and the only way to solve it was to fully disconnect the battery. I watched a video how to carefully remove the back of the tablet, disconnect the wire from the battery and let it sit like that for a couple of minutes. I then reconnected it, turned the power back on and voila! It booted up perfectly! I popped the back on again and its now working good again. It was a bit scary, and I felt like I was doing emergency surgery. Samsung really needs to fix this glitch.
Aside from this one very big issue, which I hope never happens again, I love the speed, performance and features of the tablet. I think it just has some glitches that need to be worked out.

Cons: Poor quality, glitchy

This is by far one of the best tablets I have owed it's extremely fast and reliable even after a year of solid every day all day use

I had been wanting a tablet for a while for school purposes and when this new edition was released I knew it was the perfect one I had been looking for. Most companies will hype up a product telling you how great it is and then it is sort of okay. Well everything they tell you about this product is even better. The battery will last forever!! Yet it will still charge fairly quickly (as long as you use a charger with high enough voltage/amperage (not sure what its called), like the one it comes with) . It is very thin yet durable and made out of solid materials that do not feel cheap in the least. The screen is sooooo sharp its unbelievable!!!! The stylus works great and the tablet is perfect for note taking. The split app screen is smooth and flawless, I have had this tablet since the day it came out and have not once had it lag or crash and I use it all day everyday and have plenty of performance intensive games, watch tv and movies, and take notes on it. I have recommended this tablet to everyone I know even thinking of buying a tablet.
