I absolutely love my Note 10.1 2014 special edition. I orginally bought the Galaxy Tab 3 but decided I needed something that was more geared towards working on the go. I am so happy I decided to give the Tab 3 to my daughter and upgrade myself to the Note!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to use

Some really cool things, but not as fast as I hoped

I think there is a lot of fantastic features built into this tablet. Such as multitasking and being able to mirrorcast your display to a tv if it supports it. The android interface is good, I like some of the things that Samsung as done to it such as the task bar at the top.
The biggest thing I am concerned with is the speed. It seems about as fast as my cellphone running android even though it has 3gigs of ram. There are lags when switching between programs and when you click on a link it sometimes takes 3 – 4 seconds to realize you did it. It also uses over half of the ram just to run the tablet – I can only imagine it is because of all the Samsung software that runs on it.
I think if you use the stylus a lot then it will easily be the best tablet out there for you, for myself I am still not even sure I am going to keep it. I think I could get a faster running tablet for less money if I went with a surface or the new nexus that is coming out. It is a shame that I can’t remove some of the Samsung things that are slowing this one down.
Overall, still a great tablet, just not sure it is the best for me.

Great Tablet......However its not perfect

I am a Junior Mechanical Engineer Student at Michigan State University and I've owned this tablet for almost a year now and i really like this tablet. I prefer android over apple only because i think apple products are over priced and this tablets writing functions far exceeds apple's ability for taking notes on a tablet. The battery life on this tablet is great if your only using it for taking notes at school, if you like to watch videos between class the battery will get drained rather quickly but i can make it through an 8 hour day at school taking notes easy on one full charge. I bought this tablet with the full intention to completely get rid of using paper and pencil for taking notes, and this is where the however comes into play, the pre-loaded apps on this were not quick enough for me. Teachers talk fast and Samsungs "S Note" app takes to long to go to the next page of notes. It also only allows for a landscape style writing surface, so when you turn the tablet so its longest side is vertical you only have about half the screen to write on. Evernote is the best app i found for writing notes but I have seen much better note taking programs on my professors Toshiba lap tops. In class they will write problems out on this laptop with a version of the s pen and projects it onto a screen for the class to see and its clearly a much faster program and functions flawlessly. Yes i understand that this is a laptop I'm talking about but there has to be a way to take get that kind of note taking app onto this Samsung tablet. I also wish the the S Pen had an eraser built into it so i wouldn't have to stop writing to switch the function of the S Pen to an eraser.
To sum it up this tablet has great potential for students to take electronic notes but the speed of taking notes needs to improve and a better free app needs to be out on the market before i could switch over to only taking notes on this. Love the display and to me this was the best tablet on the market last year. I'm not familiar with whats on the market right now so i cant say how great it is compared to recent releases of other tablets.
Also its worth mentioning that the video player has issues on this tablet, will some times play video with out sound or there will be a glitch every few seconds in the video and audio. If this happens you have to restart the tablet. This doesn't happen very often any more but its still there.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, sd port
Cons: Did not meet expectations, video player has issues, no great app of notes taking

Very nice tablet. Having both the IPad and the Note hands down I like the Note better. The S pen is outstanding, nice big bright display, keyboard is natural, fast and very light.

I have had the note for 3 weeks and have one big concern. Plugged into the wall, the unit uses more power than the charger can supply. Takes all night to recharge the unit if and only if it is powered off. The placement of the usb(charging) port has proven to be cumbersome if you use the device while plugged into a power source.
This one I'm sure I just have a setting wrong, but if I log into the unit 6 times out of ten the screen goes black and I have to log in again. A little frustrating. It does the same thing if I am reading and put it on the floor for a second to grab something else.
Having the power switch next to the volume control has allowed me to shutdown a couple of times when all I meant to do was lower the volume.
If you watch a movie on the device, you have a constant white light from the left side of the screen where you can press it to run multiple apps. Pretty annoying but here again, I'm sure there is a way to get rid of it, I just haven't found it.
So far I like everything else that I have used. Most of the issues are self inflicted but overall a pretty nice unit. I will be in the car for 8 hours next which will give me an opportunity to learn about a few more features. I could probably learn more if I didn't have to drive at the same time

this is an excellent product, the cost is a little expensive, but it is extremly good performance and the bright display is outstanding.
sometimes it gets into a lack, but my version is an exynos, the peformance of my nexus 5 with snapdragon 800 is better. not so far but better.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: snapdragon 800 is required to all versions
