Bugs made this a very frustrating experience

I have used turbotax for 5 years now with no problems, but this year I have spent hours trying to get through layers of problems with the final review section. Things keep showing up that I did not enter and there is no help online. I will be switching to a different software for my taxes next year.
Second year I used Turbo Tax for the family. I love the fact the data is transferred in from the previous year saving you a ton of time and it simplifies the process. The step by step makes it easy to get the best result possible
I've used this product for several years and continue to be impressed with how the company makes what the government makes incomprehensible, almost a joy. I particularly like constant comparisons with previous year, import from previous year, import from investment company, error traps, ease of filing.
It really helps to keep your records updated through the year...it took me two months to cleanup my desk, but less than a day to plug in all the numbers to Turbotax, what a time saver.
Obviously TurobTax is the standard and is very good - who could get it right without it? But it's frustrating that some very basic questions are hard to address with the software: where do I enter my home office deduction; how do I apply a refund from my 1040x; etc. And no place to enter Depreciation for a rental property? Had to do it manually on the tax form. The help/search feature stinks. Keep at it, TurboTax!
Over all TurboTax is a simple yet thorough way to file my taxes. I have been using it for over ten years and have had no issues. This year, however, one of my children can no longer be claimed as a dependant. The program identified this and let me now. It adjusted the deductions accordingly, but did NOT remove him from the dependants list. Unknowingly, I e-filed and my return and it was rejected because he could not be on my return. After correction, my refund dropped by $2500. A slight disappiontment. I would think an option to make sure a dependant that can not be claimed is removed either automatically or a reminder to do it manually should be built into the software. Other than that, great program!
I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years and I love the convenience and ease of filing. I especially like the method of itemizing deductions and how Turbo Tax uses prior year information so I don't have to retype everything year after year. Turbo Tax walks you through, step-by-step, but you also have the option of viewing the normal tax forms at any time. As with any software, it isn't foolproof, so I would encourage you to look at the form version before submitting, even if the Turbo Tax analysis shows no issues. You will be able to see line-by-line if you've completed the sections you expect. Thanks, Intuit!
