Turbo Tax combined with the year around availability of It's Deductible makes for doing taxes a breeze. Been using Turbo Tax for over ten (10+) years. There's a reason!
What a wake up call this first time Turbo Tax experience was. I cannot believe the cost and time savings for using a tax prep person, when compared to doing this myself using Turbo Tax. If you're honest and have no millions to declare, this is a really user friendly way to process tax returns. Very cool! Thanks!
I like using turbo tax,it's affordable and gets the same or money back than most other tax services out there, this year was good, next year will be ugly for me
When making up my deductions, TurboTax arbitrarily decided to enter a state tax paid amount of $7,000,000! This gave us an $89,000 refund!! Totally off the wall.
It would NOT let me change the amount and I got no response from "help" that applied in any way.
I have used and been satisfied with TurboTax for several years, but this year to start over and do a complete new return which was annoying to say the least. I will have to think about using TurboTax in the future.
HAD A PROBLEM TRYING TO E-FILE MY RETURN. TRIED EVERYTHING. CALLED THE 800 # GOT THRU IN ABOUT 10 MINS. AFTER TALKING TO YOUR REP. SHE WALKED ME THROUGH WHAT TO DO AND WITHIN 6-8 MINS. AFTER WE STARTED MY RETURN WAS E-FILED. GREAT JOB BY YOUR REP.
I fill out taxes for my elderly relatives and the 3rd party designee is important to them. The federal did no prompt me for a name and checking yes but I filled it in on the forms view. The IL state tax I could do neither. I filed state tax manually and wrote it in the field.
Overall a Good+ but not excellent
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
Considerable confusion and much time was spent due to the fact that some Fidelity data comes from Fidelity Investments and some from National Financial services. This caused a lot of "errors" in the Error check section. Other wise I would have given Turbo Tax 5 star rating
On our first time thru TT showed our 1040ES as amounting to $2800 a quarter. Second time thru it dropped to $2300. Only after updating TT and then, essentially, starting from scratch were we able to get the 1040ES to show what we knew was correct. The main problem seemed to be the fact that my military pension witholding amounts were not accounted for at the outset.
