Turbo tax is very easy to use overall. I have been using it for years. However, I had one problem this year. it took me a couple of days one item that in the end changed the location of my information. This has me a bit nervous and aggravated.
When I originally filled out the section on "books and materials to attend school" the boxes were "books and materials REQUIRED for enrollment..." and "OTHER books and materials". It took me a couple of days of internet searches to understand that I should put expenses for books I purchased from Amazon, etc in the "OTHER...." box.
At another point in continuing with my taxes it asked if I wanted to do updates and I did perform the updates. I completed the forms and filed my taxes. Now that I am writing this review and went back to the section to get the accurate wording to explain my comment, I see that not only did the update add the more clear wording "Books and Materials NOT REQUIRED", which was good, my original expenses entry WAS MOVED to the "Book and materials REQUIRED" box!
Maybe I missed it but after the updates were applied, I should have be alerted to what they were so I would check that. Now I suppose I will need to amend my return and delay my refund.
I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and I feel confident my returns are correct. Best used several years in a row as the product mines appropriate data from prior years, saving time and improving accuracy.
We love and trust Turbo Tax and have used it for many years now.
As I said, your UI content and workflows are clear, logical, and easy to follow. Something that catches my eye--and it's a small thing--is an inconsistency in your subhead capitalization. Sometimes they're sentence-capped and sometimes they're book-title capped. Sometimes you capitalize prepositions, short verbs ("are" and "is"), and the "to" in infinitives, and sometimes you don't.
But no biggie, just a little something for your UI writers and editors to keep an eye out for as you prepare for next year's release. (Hint: Preparing and following a style sheet will help!)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I think the continue button should be flipped with the back button on the screen shots. it would also be better if I could just hit the enter button instead of having to click continue every time I want to enter info. to much "mouse work".
