I love this program. It's how I've done my taxes for, well, ever. While I'm a chronic let's-try-this-so-we-have-something-to-compare-it-to consumer, I confess I have never branched out away from Intuit's TurboTax to check out the competition. The reason for this is simple: TurboTax provides a clear-cut, simple, straightforward way to do your taxes. Especially love the easy-peasy import of last year's information, thus cutting out a lot of wasted time typing in the same old stuff that doesn't change much from year to year. Sincere thanks to Intuit for creating a program for those of us who don't have time to pore over the minutiae of ever-changing tax laws!
I bought my first home this year and was terrified to file my taxes. TurboTax made it easy and practically idiot proof...which is what I needed. I had never filed my own taxes before, but this made it easy and walked me through step by step. I could read details of most every question to be sure that I was answering it correctly.
It is quite nice to be able to consider the differences between married joint and married separate, along with single and what the difference would be on the final amount. It is slow in updating itself. Upon finishing up the scenario that was to the best, it wanted to update. It took longer to update the five areas than it did for me to finish my taxes, that included printing. Don't know where the issue was, but that is the only complaint I have.
I filed my taxes a month later than I wanted to because the forms were not ready in Turbo Tax. After they were ready the program would not let me file for about 5 tries. Very frustrating.
