Being fully prepared and ready to proceed with my return, I flew through the process due to the stages of the return provided. I like the stage by stage preview of my progress because I could see what I had completed and what I had to complete. I also liked the ability to compare to last years' return. That comparison gave me comfort knowing that I was similar to the prior year. If my numbers were off, it would give me concern and know to go back and check again.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
Could not successfully transmit my e-file to the State (initially). It was not clear that in California, even if planning to do the Fed form by mail, you have to e-file both to get California the information it needs for a California return. Fixed that, but it STILL didn't work. Instructions then said failure was due to the need for the most current update. Checked updates, confirmed that there were no more new ones, but STILL didn't work (and still getting the message that if problem continues I'll have to mail it --But I had already paid for state e-filing!!). Finally quit program, restarted the computer (Mac), and re-opened program; then it worked. (Need more complete on-screen instructions on this issue.)

I've used TT for years, but unfortunately our family had a basement flood, we lost the entire furnished basement.
We received an insurance payment and were required to make the repairs by my mortgage company. I followed the instructions provided by TT for casualty loss, but I'll admit... After I completed it, I just didn't feel comfortable.
I hesitated submitting my return for over a week, continuously reviewing the data, and trying to research it online. Well, my wife finally made me pull the trigger. I pray that I did it correctly, I did it to the best of my knowledge, I guess that's all a person can do....

I previously figured my income taxes myself, but the last four years I have figured it both ways and Turbotax has always out figured me and got me more refunds. It's not really that expensive. Check it out.
