The only problem I have is itemizing my Health Care expenses for the Schedule A. Everything is lumped together in a few basic areas.
I would like to see individual health care providers carried forward from year to year; a system like you have for chartable and financial institutions.
Kudos on the way one can download 1099s from financial institutions. Used it for the first time this year and it worked great. Thanks for a great product.
I have been using Turbo Tax for around 20 years now and it has been consistently well written software. As a former software development manager, I have an acute appreciation for intuitive, user-friendly software and Turbo Tax is a great example of how software should be assembled. Everything is well organized and requires minimal additional research. I also used Quick Books for 15 years and this proved to me that Intuit is a great software development company!
Have used Turbo Tax for years. Love it. Have noticed for the last few years, I have to adjust the print for the state (Michigan) return to 'Fit the page', otherwise it cuts off the series of numbers at the bottom of the page which are required on the form. The Federal return prints fine on 'Actual size'. I am aware of this from year to year, but I'm sure the first time user isn't happy when they discover this and have wasted 10 or more sheets of paper because they have to re-do their State return.
The software incorrectly transferred my wife's income from Federal to State. Both of us are non-resident of NYS, only myself worked in NY, but my wife worked and lived in NJ. However, the software incorrectly transferred my wife's income to NYS, where she had nothing to do it. I had to manually override the data from NYS filing, to correct it.
Have been using TurboTax for many years. It works well, much better than doing taxes with the paper forms and instruction booklets. I appreciate the updates for Federal and State as I work on my taxes off and on over a few weeks.
