I have been using Turbo Tax since 2005 and have never had a problem. I have also used Turbo Tax to do taxes for my children, parents and sister. So quick and easy. Efile puts the money in the bank quickly. Love Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Easy to do, just plug in the numbers
Completed the return and state showed that I owed over $8000! Turns out I needed to get tricky with how I submitted information about short selling our house in 2013. The community was a big help, but it would've been nice if the program could've figured this out for me. That's the reason I always go with TurboTax. Ask me questions and I'll give you answers, then file. Didn't work this time. Had to do a little extra work. No worries, though. I'll be back with TurboTax again next year!
What's great about it: TurboTax Community helpful
What's not so great: California Short Sale clarity needed
While the program seems well developed, there are User interface issues. The Forms Menu (list of forms) uses abbreviated names, doesn't seem to have any specfic order meaning the organization of what forms are listed in what order doesn't seem intuitive or logical. Too much visual scanning of the list is necessary, rather than having well organized groups of forms that are related to one another. When one wants to add a form, you have to go to another list. Why not have all forms listed and then BOLD those in use with a button to expand or contract the list to ALL vs USED. Also, I would like to see a check box added so that the user can check that a particular Form has been completed (All User data entered) and there are no questions or concerns. I know you can highlight an entry as ESTIMATED to have the Error Checker flag it, but why not let the User mark a form as DONE? And also, why not have a Save button. I know CNTL-S works, but why not a Save or Save As button?
