Turbo Tax Deluxe review

Overall I enjoyed the software and the result for our taxes, but the extra costs are annoying, and I think there should be an easier help outlet when the choice you need is seemingly not available.
What's great about it: good refund, easy step-by-step process with all deductions/credits/etc.
What's not so great: cost more for filing in two states (we moved in 2013), extra cost to efile, some options I needed were not available
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Improved a little this year

The great news this year is that investment income has been changed and is vastly better. It is easy to enter gains and losses from options sales (the sale comes before the purchase) , far better than the previous year.
Not so good news about charitable deductions:
1) Cannot import from XLS or CSV.
2) The list isn't alphabetical; you have to search for each entry by scrolling the list.
3) If you donate to some charities only in alternate years, it's not clear whether you can leave the skipped ones in the list so the name and address are available for next year.
4) As you go through the address-check list, charity by charity, if you need to click Back, it doesn't go back by one charity--it takes you out of the list and you have to start over at the top of the list again. A pain if you have a hundred or so entries.

Updates: The TurboTax install is great for computer users who operate in the safer "User Mode." It prompts for an Administrator ID and password and installs without requiring the user to log out and re-log in. Unfortunately that is not the case when you need to download updates. If you select Check for Updates and there are some, the update fails. Closing everything and logging out and in is necessary, but shouldn't be.
What's great about it: Entering stock sales and options greatly improved this year
What's not so great: Charitable deductions still mangled; Updates working poorly
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I LOVE TURBOTAX!

I love TurboTax. I wouldn't do my taxes any other way. The step-by-step format is easy to use and fast. All of the bases are covered. The language is easy to understand and there are lots of helps along the way. This is an outstanding product!

I used to use a CPA to do my taxes, and it was expensive. So this year I thought I'd try TurboTax. I love it! It's extremely easy to use, and didn't take any more time than I used to spend gathering forms for my tax preparer. I refinanced last year and thought that would be a headache at tax time, but TurboTax made it easy. I definitely recommend TurboTax.

Thorough and Easy

I have used TurboTax for years . Previously I used a CPA and did not find them any better or easier. Plus turbotax is considerably cheaper.
What's great about it: Very easy and thorough. Walks you through everything.

I LIKE TURBO AS THEY KEEP ALL YOUR INFORMATION FROM PREVIOUS YEARS WHICH MAKES THINGS GO FASTER.
