I keep coming back to turbo tax because it keeps my taxes simple and easy to do without resorting to a living human, which I can do without. I highly recommend TurboTax to everyone I know.
What's great about it: Easy to do my taxes as always
What's not so great: not enough "layman's" language
Overall, fantastic. My taxes are not overly complicated but I want to ensure the IRS isn't knocking on the door. Turbo tax gives my wife and I peace of mind. If business related mileage was a bit easier to enter we would be able to complete our taxes in less than an hour.
What's great about it: Ease of use, taxes done at my convenience, at home.
What's not so great: Program confuses itself when calculating business related mileage.
Turbo is very helpful, but am glad it is over. That changing from one state to another, and being taxed in both states, then having to prove it to the second state, a really big pain. ie. I just closed the checking account that I paid the tax with (1st state and now the 2nd state wants proof of payment)....a big pain!!!
What's great about it: transferring of all the previous years data
What's not so great: changing states, requires proof of payment and prior tax return
Been using TT for 10 years or more. Easier than doing it myself by hand. I feel confident with the outcome each time. It reminds me of things I've needed to get in order and it pulls it all together in a nice neat package. I like that there are different versions as my needs have changed over the years. I haven't outgrown it yet. Thanks Intuit!
What's great about it: Holds my hand through every step!
I have used TurboTax for many years ever since I learned that I knew more than some tax preparation 'professionals'. TT is easy to use and it provides two methods to complete the forms; 1) answer TT questions, or 2) manually select the forms one wants to complete. TT is less expensive than using a tax preparation service. My only frustration with TT is that sometimes it is necessary to search for explanations of TT actions so that I can plan the next years financial tax related actions. [For example, I was not aware that part time employment can have a disproportionate effect on a retiree's Social Security taxable income.
What's great about it: Easy, less expensive than a tax service
What's not so great: Needs more up front explanations for TurboTax questions
Pretty easy to use. No problems at all this year, just still can't figure out how to assign a designee to federal income tax form. I just manually add it to my printed forms.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to use - makes me feel secure that my taxes are correct
What's not so great: Still can't find how to add a designee to federal tax returns
