I found TurboTax very user friendly once downloaded. The downside was the system asking questions that did not pertain to me and it asked the same questions later on that were already answered. Some of the forms I needed were not downloaded so I had to wait a week or more until I was notified that the forms were available. This contributed to me getting my taxes done later than I had intended. This was frustrating to say the least.
What's great about it: User-Friendly
What's not so great: Asks questions at do not pertain to me
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
There should be no costs for e-filing of Federal or State. And why should we have to do this each year? It doesn't seem to be easier every year.It changes to much from year to year.
What's not so great: should be more clear explanations for average people
Great product. All my family uses Turbo Tax. We llike the convience of having our data transfered each year. It make it so easy and less time consuming.
What's great about it: Lots of links with laymans information that was very helpful and clarified matters
What's not so great: It would be nice if you could specify when laws or deductions have changed from one year to the next
It takes a while to work out some special situations, and you may have to go to the IRS site to get the actual instructions for some forms. Once you're actually working with the form, everything falls into place.
What's great about it: Easy to link to supporting documents to figure out where the numbers are actually coming from.
What's not so great: Had to wait for final city form. Hate the upsell... if you want x feature, upgrade to the big bucks business version.
