I have used TurboTax for several years. This may be the last time. Really I will have to give you one mor year because it has been great but I don't remember it EVER being this bad.
I have a hard time taking directions, but this year was really bad. Could be my age

Long time user of TurboTax

I've been using TurboTax since 1997 and I did my Mother's for the past 10 years or so (this is the last year as she passed away last fall) and I prepare my sister's also now.
While the tax code always leaves me wondering if I've done things correctly (even the IRS agents can't tell you with confidence what the answers are), I am more confident using TurboTax that I haven't made mistakes or overlooked something.
There are a handful of areas that TurboTax leaves you hanging (e.g., is any of this investment income from this or that state - and I'm supposed to answer that how exactly), for the most part the help screens are good and clarify or point you to the right place.
I'm a satisfied customer. Having filed, I now wait in fear of the IRS, despite having done my level best to be correct, truthful, etc. It's a terrible thing to fear your government when to the best of your knowledge you've done nothing wrong. Our forefathers would be aghast at the state of affairs with taxation!
What's great about it: Step by step instructions generally very good
What's not so great: A handful of things that don't get explained well
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Improvement suggestions for "ItsDeductible Online" for entering charity contributions...
1. We need more choices in ItsDeductible like: "computer books" and "computer software'.
2. Also the "high" values are too low in ItsDeductible.
If you can change these two things for 2014, I will use "ItsDeductible Online" instead of manually entering my charity contributions.
What's great about it: This version is awesome! You can complete your taxes quickly. TurboTax keeps getting better and better every year!
What's not so great: I can't find anything I don't really like. I just have some minor improvement suggestions for ItsDeductible.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I really wish I didn't have to go through so many screens every year asking about filing a FLORIDA state tax return. There's no such thing yet I have to respond to about 5 screens, even being offered an opportunity to purchase the software which should not even exist as there's no such thing and when I review I get hit with those 5 screens again. Please make the software smarter. I've been asking for this for many years.
Also, I had problems getting information I needed for depreciation taken in previous years on a house I sold this past year. I had a terrible time getting back to change that amount. I had to go to the form and find it there as the step by step for capital gains section didn't take me to it.
And I just received an error that my nickname is too short. It's the only name on here and it's my first name...why is it a problem that my first name is 3 characters. it's been that way all my life and a 3 character name or nickname is pretty common!
What's great about it: fairly easy to enter data
What's not so great: difficult to find sections to make changes like depreciation on sold home

Excellent again

Easy and the step by step guide is the perfect way to transition the never ending requirements.
The easy of electronically filing everything including the state is a great asset. I like a program that is easy to use and guarantees the maximum return.
What's great about it: No bugs this year and all updates worked flawlessly
What's not so great: None

Turbo Tax is the easiest & cheapest way to prepare your taxes. I have been using this software since 1995. I LOVE Turbo Tax.
