Very good overall but struggled with 4972 form

Continuing from the Cons section above- When i entered what I believed were correct entries; it told me there were errors and to delete amounts and checkboxes. When I previewed the form, it had all the deleted information and said it was correct. Very confusing. I manually did calculations to verif correct 10 year averaging - so in the end it worked out, but E-Z form did not recognize I needed to fill out 4972; I went to this form due to 1099-R recommending 10 year averaging.
What's great about it: Carried over from last year majority of fill-in info.
What's not so great: Definately struggled with lump sum IRA beneficiary. I had to manually go to form 4972 and enter in information.
This software is so easy to use that you almost don't mind tax time! The questions are easy to follow, thorough, yet things move along quickly. The process is so much easier than the old-fashioned way, especially all those behind-the-scenes calculations and year -to - year holdovers. It just works great!
What's great about it: Straightforward and thorough.
Turbo tax is a helpful tool to get your taxes done in a reasonable amount of time. Software is easy to navigate and gets better every year. Cost is reasonable.
What's great about it: Easy walk through process.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
It was great as usual. I had some confusion with some of the terms, but I eventually figured them out. It would have been nice if TT could tell me why my refund was so much smaller this year.
What's great about it: Prompts to be sure everything is covered
What's not so great: Occasional confusion of tax terms
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
Software is easy to follow, except when an error of update is indicated. It ould be great if to could hit a ket and go directly to the problem area instead of having to hunt for it.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: when error is indicated program needs to go directly to what needs to be changed
We use Turbo Tax to ensure that the math is done correctly, and all data is transferred to the numerous forms. However, I am disappointed by a lack of professional assistance. Getting sent to a forum where other clueless users guess at solutions does not seem very professional! It is still too easy to make a mistake simply due to a lack of explanation in the program.
What's great about it: Accurate transfer of data to all the numerous forms
I have used the other two major competitors in recent years, as have I used an on-line website tax return - TurboTax is by far the best of all.
I love how simple TurboTax makes doing the taxes. If you have information to import, this too will aid your efforts giving a snapshot of last year and this year. By seeing the comparison, you see whether you have missed something along the way and you also see if your economic situation is improving. Long before you have all your documentation for this year, you can import last year's information and have an idea of your return.
The interview process has been cleaned up and now the appearance and ease of data entry is much better. In past years' data entry at the end of the preparation was difficult, but this year the form comes to correct place.
I would like to see in next years edition the choice for the Review either allowing you to pick either the same interface you did your original tax input versus the current "form" that is popped up requiring you enter on the actual tax form. This is confusing because it is the only time you ever see the tax form unless you read it after you begin to file your taxes.
All in all, I think TurboTax has an excellent product.
What's great about it: Intutitive and easy to follow, ensures all areas are covered
What's not so great: The user has to have the documentation
by using Turbo Tax each year you have a database that the current package can review for add'l deductions and/or make comparisons to review for errors or possible audit triggers
What's great about it: easy, understandable and dependable
