Truly helpful with standard line items. I would just want to make sure you were going after any and all possible deductions. I do not want to leave any money behind. I will pay my share or what I owe in taxes, but i also want to take any and all available deductions i can. I want my ‟billion‟ back. My only fear is that if i took it to a CPA, would they find more money for me? Maybe advertise this next time,
Was supposed to have head of household but the program wouldn't allow for that credit but IRS says I am able to have credit. Program needs to be changed and not able to speak to a live person when a situation came about had lots of back in forth comments from other people who are having the same problem and not a technical support person to fix program or mistakes that might have happened. I would like to speak to someone about situation and fix the problem with my taxes. I
What's great about it: Asked lots of questions to help get refund
What's not so great: wont accept changes u choose but irs does
I have enjoyed the Turbo Tax experience for many years now. The last 2 yrs though I have not been able to efile my state return because of a file attachment problem. This year it is Form 2106 as I am now itemizing my taxes versus standard deduction. The previous attachment form problem was a debt cancellation form for Federal which triggered an overdue tax payable statement from IRS. Turbo Tax had done the form and I was able to print the form separately and not pay the tax payment though. Thanks Turbo Tax for overall experience. Some details may need a lift though.
What's great about it: Convenience and easier reading. The help info provides better understanding versus leaving you more confused.
What's not so great: Some forms don't automatically attach for filing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I feel as if I should be prompted to enter things like home office & work mileage especially because I do them the previous yr... I almost miss it every time! If someone wouldn't of told me it was on there I never would of called to find it the first yr... But here I was the second yr calling again... If you don't go back into it several times you will miss a lot of hidden deductions... It shouldn't be that difficult if ur really trying to help us out... ;)
If you notice by the online questions & answers, several peeps have this problem too... & those are only the registered ones... I hate to think of all the peeps missing out... ;(
What's great about it: Love the whole concept
What's not so great: Every year I suffer with finding all my deductions!
As always, (10 years+) program is so easy to use that it builds confidence as it progresses step-by-step while allowing one to review each step should one wish to see more complete details.
What's great about it: easy to use, answers questions, leads you through the process, seems to be complete.
What's not so great: several redundant spots are mildly annoying.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I enjoyed the whole experience. All the questions were easy to understand and because of the checklist I had all the data collected ahead of time. I suggest you expand the checklist and make it part of the total program. The checklist will help new first time subscribers be prepared.
Thank you
What's great about it: I liked the whole program. I printed out the tax prep checklist to help me collect the needed data..
