Foreign Tax Credit Fail

The foreign tax credit (Form 1116) needs a lot of work. I never could make it work correctly despite numerous trial and error attempts. Couldn't get the data input for four countries/companies and the individual taxes. Lastly, the number for the "gross income from all sources" (Line 3e) was way higher than anything on the rest of my return. Could not see how that number could have been arrived at.
What's great about it: Generally easier every year, since all the data is there from previous year
What's not so great: Foreign tax credit needs a lot of work.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

i would recommend turbo tax to anyone who wishes to do their own tax returns. super-easy to use with no glitches

great until the end

Great software on the whole. Have used turbotax since 1997. A fix needs to be done to allow MAC users to efile without having to solve issues with erroneous update problem. Otherwise no complaints.
What's great about it: easy step through and input of data
What's not so great: had trouble efiling federal at end. had to go to help and read several comments to find solution

Fast & Accuracy

I've been used TurboTax more than 15 years, and never have problem to deal with IRS what so ever. Turbo Tax always my choice.

I would not purchase again. When the product says it will help but doesn't, goes against good business practices.

Switched from TaxCut - Wow

I have used TaxCut for years. I couldn't this year because TaxCut had issues installing on my Window 8.1 computer. I decided on TurboTax. It couldn't have been simpler to install.
I did my taxes in about an hour. Easy, easy, easy. I also like the audit protection and e-file.
I will be back next year.
What's great about it: Easy to Download, Easy to Install, Easy to Use
What's not so great: None really
