No transfer of info.

I used TurboTax last year (2012) and it did not transfer any personal information to this year's Turbo tax as it promised. Why was this? (same computer)
The only thing I would like you to add is giving me the option to anticipate what a refund would be if I changed a few items.
My example is - in two years my wife will be getting social security. I already get it. We also receive income from an IRA and both have part time jobs. I am just trying to figure out how her additional income will impact our taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: never quite sure when final product is done. Fixes keep coming.
This is my second year of using TT and it is really user friendly. The only reason I needed to call in this year was because I had tax law questions and was not sure why the refund status did not show what I was reading.
What's great about it: Easy step by step for those who have not filed their own taxes before.
What's not so great: There are some areas that the help or explanation area does not answer.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
Turbo Tax is easy to use and gives me everything I need to complete my tax return. I have been using it for several years and I have never been disappointed.Turbo Tax makes tax filing pretty simple and gives me a lot of confidence that my return is correct. Thanks Turbo Tax
What's great about it: Step by step guidance gives great confidence in a correct tax return
State of CT instructions re Fed IncomeSubtractions

The following suggestion for improvement relates to the Connecticut tax return preparation: I became confused with the instructions regarding subtractions to reported federal income. One screen stated that Social Security benefits (should clarify "benefits" by including the word "income") must be reported as a subtraction to reported federal income. However, Turbo Tax had already populated the correct field in another section of the tax return. I took the instruction literally and entered my social security income on the screen that directed me to do so; Specifically on line 10a on the worksheet named ""Other Subtractions 'Statement Sub1'"). I made a similar error regarding the CT State tax refund on the same input screen related to "subtractions to federal income" using line 10b. These errors, on my part, could have been avoided with more precise instructions by Turbo Tax. A simple statement indicating that Turbo Tax had addressed the issue elsewhere; i.e. within the Social Security Benefit Adjustment worksheet) would have assisted my understanding. My errors cost me several hours of research to finally figure out my misunderstanding. BTW no one responded to my search for help on the issue using Turbo Tax' "Community" outreach service.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax Takes care of all the math!
What's not so great: Poor instructions for State of CT input screens
