Cleared path to my refund

As usual I was very comforable with being led through the data input process. Hints, questions and explanations offered provided a comfort zone for me to ensure all bases were covered. Downloading data directly from my financial institution greatly simplified that portion of the filing. Thanks
I have been a turbo tax user since 2006. Last year my pc died and in it was all the turbo tax records. I do have copies in cds but I did not load them unto my new pc. So after downloading the turbo tax for this year's filing...I had to start from scratch...I was probably spoiled from the previous years' filing when it just uploaded automatically. :-(
Data entry and tax calculation similar to previous versions...no complaints. However, it took several attempts to finally send my return by E-filing option, which is one of the prime reasons I purchased TurboTax! I received a message that "transmission failed" and I had to download the most recent update. Several upgrade attempts resulted in "you have the most recent version available". I printed out the return in frustration and was prepared to file by USPS, but made one last attempt and E-filing went through (supposedly). SUMMARY: I was disappointed with the experience compared to previous versions and will reconsider which tax preparation software I will purchase next year. PS: the nickname requirement to post a review is an unecessary pain also!
Again dreaded completing this years taxes. Again Turbo Tax made me wonder why! So complete, comprehensive, and user friendly, I would recomend this softwear to all
The program worked smoothly, knows where to put all information and how to do the math, asks the right questions looking for additional deductions, etc. Everything great until final payment questions.
What I thought was the final step noted amount owed to Feds, amount of state refund, Turbo's filing fee, then "Total Refund." The way they got to that amount was not clear to many besides me, judging from questions posted. As a math teacher would tell them: show your work, and do so before final step in e-filing.
System for handling questions awkward, but would be easier if people had better knowledge of tax system; many questions posted that had nothing to do with Turbo's job--issues with States' or IRS statutes, rules, or systems clutter up the question entries.
