makes doing taxes fun

TURBO TAX - VERY GOOD PROGRAM WITH ERRORS

The program is made easier each year as well as more user-friendly. I do find that instructions in many instances are vague and/or misleading. For example, is it true that I can use Deluxe to file a 'state' return, as well as print and mail it free of charge? Do I like Turbo Tax, sure I do but am just annoyed at wasting so much time trying to get the State-error corrected, and wary about missing such an error on my son's return. Overall, Turbo Tax is a very good program striving to become an excellent one. A litttle more clarity in some of the instructions would be helpful.
What's great about it: Simplified program.
What's not so great: Inability to correct a simple program error/Carryover worksheet..

I thought it asked a lot of questions for just doing the 1040EZ form.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great way to cut through complex tax forms

The program really makes filing taxes as easy as it can be and many forms are available. Last year I had to go back to the library a couple of times to get additional forms.
I really like how the program methodically goes through the forms and steps to filing taxes to make sure nothing is missed.
This year I did encounter a bug where the program kept asking for me to fill in a landlord even though I live in a house with no mortgage at the point where the return is checked for errors. I just put down "None" but I didn't see this schedule in my final PDF tax forms.
Other than this minor glitch everything seemed to go through and all returns were accepts.

Great Program

I've used TurboTax for many years and it's always done what it says and done it well. I especially like the controls that remind you of items that you may have overlooked. Easy to use and intuitve
What's great about it: Easy to use, mostly intuitive, has lots of good controls and balances
What's not so great: State taxes are extra cost to e-file
