The ONLY thing I don't like about the software is after entering my educator expenses for classroom supplies it tells me that anything over $200 is not enough to meet the job expense category without giving me the chance to enter union dues and subscriptions that are not technically part of the educator expenses but are considered job expenses. I have to manually go back into job deductions and enter these.
Saving returns resulted in message "can't find location of file". Saving without the password worked. Tried to Efile and it wouldn't go through until I reloaded the program and updated it.
We've used Turbo Tax for many years. The software is easy to understand, easy to use, and gives us the feeling of confidence that we've filled out all the paperwork properly. It's great for filing itemized deductions. It's quick and simple.
I have been using this program for 5 years now and this is the first year that the experience has been bad. Unable to put credit card info in to pay for state return and when you go to print the state return it says that do not file on it. We were forced to pay an extra 30 because it would not let us put the credit card info in. We will not be using this program next year.
After buying a house 8 years ago, filing taxes became much harder. I turned to Turbo Tax for help and was hooked after the first time. Turbo Tax made filling out forms and filing taxes so much easier.
I have found that TurboTax is the easiest way to file taxes. They walk you through each step - it took me about an hour to go through everything. I also like knowing that I'm in a "low risk" category for a potential audit. Typically see doing taxes as a chore - but this was way too easy....
