no free state

everything was fairly easy, but it wouldn't allow me to use the 1 free state efile.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: cant efile the free state

Almost like doing taxes

Have been using Turbotax almost as long as it has been available. Before that my husband paid someone to do our simple taxes...and that person started using a form that we had to provide all of the data and he simply entered it into some program (probably Turbotax). So why pay someone else when this is so simple. We even had a company years ago and it was easy to use Turbotax.--Really recommend it!!!

This is the 13th year using TT after swapping from a competetor's TaxCut software. Much easier and all the pertinent questions are asked using the Guide me function.
What's great about it: uploading last years info to save data entry time and effort
What's not so great: none

I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY ONLINE EFILE. THE SITE WOULD NOT LET ME MAKE CORRECTIONS. I WAS CONNECTED WITH "TEYQUIAN" AND HE HELPED ME SOLVE MY PROBLEMS. HE WALKED ME THROUGH THE PROCESS STEP BY STEP AND WAS VERY POLITE IN DOING SO. THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD WITH DEALING WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP BY PHONE!
What's great about it: VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE
What's not so great: SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH THE ONLINE EFILE

IRA

We did not get a 1099R for one IRA account because we did not withdraw the RMD. We took far in excess of the RMD from another. Since we did not have a 1099R, the program ignored the situation completely. In years past it at least asked the question and put in for the penalty if there were no offset.
I have used TurboTax for 20 years and this was the worst.
Also my computer has Windows XL with all the updates and I could not load the program.
What's great about it: Great if you have a 1099R form
What's not so great: Terribly inadequate if you did not get a 1099R

Great tax software

TurboTax make filing easy and I always feel that I have covered the entire tax spectrum. It also worked great when I was operating an LLC.
What's great about it: Easy to use and is very thorough.

update after Jan 30 and still would not let me e-file without making changes in state box 15.
