good for refunds

I don't like the way this review works.
What's great about it: got me and my wife refunds
What's not so great: I don't like the captions orf the buttons displayed as reversed-out white against blue. Very poor legibility.

It drove me crazy

Even writing a review is a hassle. I would not recommend using Turbo Tax to my enemies.

I've used turbotax for over 20 years and I think it is the best income tax software available.
What's great about it: easy to use; step by step helps you find more deductions

I generally like turbo tax but I experienced some issues this time that shouldn't occur on a tax site.
Granted, I did an extension and then forgot about the October 15th deadline, so my experience was not with the onsite turbotax. Still, these were my issues:
On the deduction for tax filing expenses, not only did turbotax not retrieve my record from the previous year, but no where in the order details does it say what i spent last year for tax software. I really don't know what the point of having order history details is if there are no details. It should not be hard to find what i paid for taxes on a tax software site!
Also, having to download the package for the now expired time, the website was confusing, could I only buy deluxe for the download and not basic? If not I couldn't find the answer on your site. Additionally, after finally finding where to download the software, i first downloaded onto my older laptop, which said the OS was not supported when i tried to launch it.
Granted also I know I'm in the wrong here, but it would be nice to have more help and information on late penalties since i didn't expect to owe taxes and so now they're overdue.
This is been very disappointing from a site that prides itself on making taxes easy.

Ease of Navigation

Turbo Tax beats all the others hands down!

What's great about it: No matter where you are in your return you can easily navigate anywhere in your return.
What's not so great: None worth mentioning

Making it Simple

I use TurboTax every year and feel its easy to work with. I like knowing that its checked and double checked to make sure I haven't missed anything.
What's great about it: Step-by-step Walk Thru
What's not so great: No State Taxes - asks 3 times...

Mostly positive experience

Overall as in past years I had a positive experience with TurboTax and will most likely use again next year. The navigation and the help are very useful. My only real complaint is there was something that I had entered incorrectly in the wrong place that I would have liked to be able to just delete. I was unable to figure out how to delete even by going into the actual form and ended up being forced to leave with a $0 entry. Also it was almost impossible to find the place to enter the estimated tax amount that I had paid with my federal extension
What's great about it: Easy to use and covered topics in orderly fashion that was simple to follow
What's not so great: Unable to to delete item that was incorrectly entered, difficult to find entry for estimated taxes paid with extension
