PIN confusion

There was no dialog box or warning concerning the use of the 6-digit PIN. When I tried to enter it into the only PIN dialog box I was presented, it would only allow 5, so I dropped the leading zero. Only after receiving the notice that the return was rejected was I directed to the screen where the 6-digit PIN was accepted, and even at that it took me somewhere else first that also would not accept the 6-digiti version. Perhaps a piece of code could be written so that when a user tries to enter six digits in a five digit limit box a dialog box or window pops up instructing the user where to enter the 6-digit PIN. With the prevalence of ID theft through tax returns, it seems a reasonable precaution.
What's great about it: TurboTax is a great help in filling out the return.
What's not so great: Lacks guidance on using 6-digit PIN

MADE DOING TAXES EASY

You can be Head of household but not legally separated (when your spouse leaves without a trace), but you have no questions to make that exception when you're married filing separate but as head of household, not married filing separate.
What's great about it: EASY TO FOLLOW
What's not so great: LACKED INFO ON FILING STATUS (MARRIED but HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD)

I was able to navigate back and forth pretty easily.
It was easy to understand, but i spent at least 45 minutes trying delete an amount that i had duplicated. I clicked on "update" and thought that would have given me the option to delete, but it did not.

In all fairness if I had the time I am sure I could have contacted one of your folks and we could have resolved the problem.

Sometimes the software gets in the way...

I made a payment with my extension form and when I went through the recommended steps to enter it, it did not update the balance due. After going through the process several times, I finally updated directly through forms instead of EasyStep. Thank goodness that worked.
What's great about it: I found a back door!
What's not so great: The incorrect balance due was worrisome.

Awesome Federal Return!

Really liked the information and tax tips. Easy to walk through sections that are difficult and still refer to the actual Tax Publications!
Hardest part was interpreting some of the wording on the questions in the AZ State Tax portion, and providing exactly what was required.
What's great about it: TurboTax made it easy to compute taxes through a difficult separation of assets for divorce and home sale!
What's not so great: If you have your data gathered... it is simply answering questions!
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Minimized the Pain

The most painful part of filing taxes (other than owing a large sum of money) is collecting all the paperwork necessary to fill out all of the forms.
Once the unavoidable pain has been endured, the TurboTax guided me through the entire process of entering all of my data into the correct forms and fields. Despite how onerous our tax system has become, Turbo Tax simplified the tax filing process and spared me any additional pain.
What's great about it: Easy to follow step by step instructions
What's not so great: nothing I can think of
