I had some changes in 2013, (divorce, unemployment) so I was nervous about filing this year. Turbo Tax made it extremely easy to understand any changes in my status. Explanations I could understand!! Thank you Turbo Tax!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
I had not logged on to my computer as the administrator and after COMPLETING my federal form I was not allowed download the state forms that I had paid for. Switching over to "administrator" TurboTax required me to restart the entire filing process and THEN allowed me to download the state forms and complete my taxes. A statement at the beginning of this process telling me of the necessity to log on as the administrator would have saved me a lot of displeasure in what is normally an easy task.
Even though i have to pay in, TurboTax is the best

I recommend TurboTax to everybody, my entire family and all my friends. I love going through turbo tax and i tried so many companies this year and turbotax was by far my best bet...the people are always helpful and willing to be patient with me.
Had terrible problems after I loaded my second state. Nothing would transfer from federal form to second state form. After 2 hours of trying to make it work and looking through help I started over.
After starting from scratch again everything worked correctly it was just a pain to have to go over everything again.
I have a very simple tax situation but I do have stock and fund investments. It seems that the guide narrative is aimed at a more sophisticated investor and can be very difficult to follow. I'd suggest that the authors "dumb down" the guidance and aim it at the average person who happens to have an investment portfolio through a brokerage. The section on Cost Basis assumed a level of knowledge that I sorely lack.
