Last year we went to a CPA due to owning two properties for the first time. I also used turbo tax to see if I could have done then myself using turbo tax. Sure enough the federal return values were virtually identical, I will always use Turbo Tax, to me it is the best and most reliable product.
A first class program that will be useful to beginners to experienced users. When you use this program for the first time you'll never go back to tax preparers or your own manual efforts. Thanks for a solid and consistent program!
I've used TurboTax for decades and this year continues the excellent experience established. The only fault -- which showed up this year only, was the failure to return to the page/item where the file was saved and closed.
Required me to go completely through the sequence again, although it did let me start at one of the basic steps. The point was that I couldn't just jump through the sequence because some of the previous answers (not the numbers) required that I recheck the radio-buttons.
I have been using Turbo Tax for just about as long as it has been around. I tried a competitor's software ONCE. Ugh. I have used TT on Macs, and on PCs from XP right through now to Windows 8. It is easy to use, and the ability to maneuver within the software (like to go back in and make changes where you want to, without having to redo a whole section) keeps improving every year.
I have used TT when married, single, widowed, self-employed, a self-employed contractor, as and employee, and even when unemployed. I also used it to prepare the taxes for a deceased family member, and that same year to compute my taxes with an inheritance.
I have used it under a couple of other "oddball" situations. It remains my go-to Tax Software!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
