In Virginia - There are two ways to receive a refund (and its NOT by a check). Can receive it by Automatic Deposit to a Back Account, or by receiving it as a Credit (Gift) Card. It seems that the default is by Credit (Gift) Card. There is no automated method in Turbo Tax that allows in the steps to make a decision on how to receive the refund. (Direct Deposit being faster than a Gift Card). There is also the option in the tax form to pay a shortfall by allowing a withdrawal directly from a bank account or by sending a check. Again, we have to manually enter the information within the tax form itself.
What's great about it: Ease of use !
What's not so great: Some State Elections not automated by Steps - Have to go to Return to make changes
I will prob not use turbo tax again in future. Second year in a row had trouble with efile. was unable again this year due to staying it needed to be updated. I literally updated it 7 times in 5 minutes and still kept saying needed updated. If your product does not have th bugs worked out for efile, do not offer it as an option. Two years in a row say it is not an efile product. I will be using another efile option tax software next year
