EZ way to refund

The return should download all revised forms BEFORE you start the return rather than having to go back and review after the download. Other than that and the high cost of a second state return Turbo Tax is the way to go.
What's great about it: Step by step explanations of all catagories
What's not so great: Extra charge for CA state return efile.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
My 2012 Turbo Tax importation of dividends and interest was very easy. In 2013 you had to import to only the mentioned sites, not good-will maybe look elsewhere next year!!!
What's great about it: Concise and to the point
What's not so great: Importation of interest and dividends not able to do!!---Bad, Bad!!!
Happy me just sent off my 2013 tax return and I did it all by myself with Turbo Tax's guidance. It seemed easier this year and I am very grateful. However, with that said, I will have to amend my 2012 return because I did not declare myself as head of household as I should have last year and I don't remember the explanation of filing statuses being as clear as this year's. So, I hope the process will be as simple as this year's taxes by making that change to last year's. I hope this will not trigger an audit but if so, then so be it. I have nothing to hide and have your team behind me. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy, thorough, money saver
I have used turbo tax several times prior to 2007 and never had this problem before. Everthing was entered according to my 1099,s correctly but it keep takeing me back to one of the two forms forms and indicated something needed to be done but never told me what and also I had been told that everthing was fine. That makes no sense to me. It made no sense. It would not let me finish sending the federal e-file and gave trouble printing the papers I will need to send through the mail. Phil Johnson
What's not so great: Would not let me e-file my federal return and am haveing a hard time printing it to send thru the mail.
It would be helpful when going through the categories if when you finished it would take you to your current location instead of the top of the categories
What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: Tracking could be better
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
We have been using Turbo Tax for years. After having used an online vendor and being overwhelmed with the ease and convenience of "e-File," we opted to go with Turbo Tax the following years and haven't used another vendor since. This year was the first time we hit a "glitch" in the system, and Turbo Tax did not catch the very simple-to-fix problem which resulted in us spending over two hours trying to wade through red tape. At the end of the day, though, we highly recommend Turbo Tax and we will definitely be repeat customers in 2015!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy-to-read & when one encounters a problem, the "Help" is easy to navigate
What's not so great: VERY time consuming to make a simple correction
The big plus is easy fill-out and print of all the forms, with direct data entry or questionnaire style. And the state return is almost done before you look at it. For returns with many entries on schedules (A thru E) it still helps if you know how they feed into 1040. In some cases one wants to enter data as an override instead of plodding thru a bunch of questions, but some boxes can't be overridden, and some produce an error flag that never goes away. If you have a lot of charitables, or int/div items, or business expenses, the lists may exceed the usable space on the form. Items don't get lost, but they get put in worksheets that are created with no meaningful names -- hard to find since in many cases there's no link to click on. Could use some thinking on how worksheets coordinate with the filed form.
What's great about it: Forms & calculations right; prompts for most info; makes state return easy
What's not so great: Overrides not easy. Long lists get split and saved in obscure places.
Turbo Tax makes it so easy to do my itemized taxes and got me the maximum refund. I have been using it for five years now and plan to continue using it in the futuer.
