2013 marked the first time in the 10 years I've been using TurboTax that I felt confused at times. Explanations seem more obtuse, and require extra digging. The app also quit on me a couple of times and failed to update. It would say it updated, but when I tried to eFile, it kept running the same loop of updates. After restarting and doing some research online, I got it to load the updates. Not what you want to be doing when it 11pm and you thought you were 5 minutes away from being done.
What's great about it: Loaded in last years info like it always does, eFile
What's not so great: app crashes, failed to update, confusing at times
It's really great that Turbotax can import investment data and not require me to enter it manually. It seems to be very thorough and asks all the necessary questions.
What's great about it: covered all my needs, importing investment information
I miss aspects of the old Turbo Tax - like the pop up "expert explanations", access to IRS publications, the tax planner and other help. Now it is just a glorified form filler, and although it is still helpful, it offers far less than before. Pretty expensive for what you get.
What's great about it: Made Tax Filing Fairly Easy
