Took a lot of time

I had significant problems getting ItsDeductible to transfer in appropriate amounts. There is a discrepancy in the totals on ItsDeductible program, and the amount it transfers into Turbotax (for whatever reason). The explanation for "Cost or Basis" as requested does not seem to provide adequate explanations for what is being requested. Some items transferred easily where others had to have a series of additional answers input. I found it confusing.
What's great about it: The program does walk you through a lot of questions to assist in the filing of an accurate tax form.
What's not so great: This program presupposes a rather high level of knowledge upon the person filing.
I really like Turbo Tax and have used it for many years. I really like the easy intuitive step by step. I like how it downloaded my information from my employer, and prefills the forms from previous Turbo Tax. I like how it downloaded from It's Deductible.
What's great about it: Very easy to use again and walked through each phase
What's not so great: Having to pay efile for State when this saves them time
I was especially irritated I had to call to unlock the state filing capability for a Deluxe version I purchased via download. Further, several supporting items were unclear or incomplete, and links to state info only took me to their home page. I was, then, on my own to find the appropriate information. Although I've used TurboTax for 22 years, if next year's version is no better, it will be the last version of Turbo Tax I ever use. Please consider revising the pages such that when you finish entering a source of income, deduction, etc, the screen stays on the last entry. Opening at the top of the list forces me to scroll down through a list I've already read multiple times.
What's great about it: • Familiar format from previous use
What's not so great: • Had to call to "activate" state return with Deluxe • Less helpful links to state references • Unclear explanations of
I had a lot of difficulty trying to enter tax free interest when some of it was federal tax free but not state tax free, and some was state tax free but not federal tax free.
What's great about it: Contribution entry improved from last year but could be improved even more
What's not so great: Entering tax exempt interest where it differed between federal and state could be simplified.
