When entering medical deductions, I was "crossing over" different types to the wrong category - will alter my record keeping this year to prevent the problem next year.
What's great about it: was same as last time
What's not so great: wish we could simplify deductibles - I made an outline this year
I have used TT for many years and have been pleased. Every so often there is a glitch. A few years ago it was with e-filing. In 2013 it kept changing the filing status of my VA return. I found a work around but this should not be necessary.
The only issue I had was that the software didn't update automatically. It only updated when I had completed the taxes and was ready for the final check. This necessitated that I input some data on forms directly. I did receive good advice from Intuit when I called as to what to try to input the data and that did indeed work.
Overall, a great experience with easy to follow instructions. PA state return was somewhat confusing as it was not entirely clear which 1099 forms contained non-taxable income. Also, the sale of our home did not enter easily on the PA state form worksheets.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step process
What's not so great: Pennsylvania state return a bit confusing
