Overall the experience was positive. No unnecessary detours, although I went through the checklist instead of answering all each question in the interview. I guess the interview helps first-timers, so no complaints about how repetitive it seems.
The instructions for filling out form 1116 were funky. Why should I have to figure out which amounts arr largest and enter them in first? Couldn't TT do that? It's a computer program! When the completion process didn't go well even though I thought I followed the instructions to the letter, it was a real pain to get rid of the bad 1116 and go through the process again. I wen to forms and it took a bit of experimenting to figure out how to delete it. Strangely, after I did, it never showed up in the forms list again, even after I got it filled out properly.

What's great about it: Seemed to go faster this year
What's not so great: Harder to navigate to specific forms than in the past
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years and will keep using it.

6th year filing with TurboTax

My Deluxe version locked up when I tried to get last years info over to this year's form even though it said it found my info. After 4 tries I gave up and skipped that. The updates which have always been the first thing to come up were at the very end this time. That change makes less than no sense. Why did you change the way my 1099 retirement accounts were handled to treat them as IRA's---totally confusing. Spent four times as much time on my taxes as in the last several years. If I try you next year, it will be the free version so as not to be paying for your changes to irritate me.
What's great about it: Walks you through it (when it works)
What's not so great: Does not always work and help doesn't help

Good but State e-file should be included free

Tax program is easy. I don't like that I have to pay to e-file a State return. At least one should be free! Also, there is an incorrect statement that says you must e-file Federal & State at the same time. This is totally wrong. I e-filed my daughters and filed a paper copy directly with the State & she got her refunds with no problems.
What's great about it: Taxes are easy with Turbo tax
What's not so great: Totally WRONG about having to e-file Federal & State together. You can e-file Federal & paper file to State.

Turbo Tax makes it so easy to do your taxes with step by step instructions that anyone can do their own tax returns. It's the only way I'll do my taxes anymore.

Saved me Dollars and Cents

I recommend purchasing the Deluxe version to anyone
What's great about it: Gained knowledge of individual components of tax return that I do not get from other (Hint: green) tax professional
What's not so great: To go back and review one component caused me to reclick every confirmation rather than furthest confirmed point
Pros: I bought or sold investments
