Federal is great, local, not so much

Federal and state are a breeze. Charitable contributions are great too. The big downside is it takes more than half my time to handle my local Ohio taxes. I end up having to go to the local tax website and re filling out the forms there to avoid the poorly phrased questions that always result in errors and or inaccuracies. At that point I just efile my Ohio return too on the OH website to avoid the e-filing fees in Turbo Tax. I highly recommend the Federal portion!
What's great about it: Automatically fills in data from previous years, saving time. Federal is great. State is good.
What's not so great: Local ohio forms are absolutely terrible.

Excellent and even fun...OK not really fun, but it was really easy!
What's great about it: I have always used a professional or busted my brain, and this time with Turbo Tax I got it done in a few hours for free
What's not so great: I still had to pay taxes, oh well!
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

I love Turbotax. When I have sticky tax questions, there are multiple resources available to get the solutions. The application has help and if that's not enough you can go online to get more information.
What's great about it: All questions answered fully
What's not so great: Preferred last year's interface

I've used Turbo Tax for at least 15 or more years, and each year it seems to get better!
What's great about it: Clear instructions and helpful advice
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

The IRS code is incredibly jumbled. I got tired of trying to keep up with the poorly written rules and instructions. Always concerned about not carrying figures forward to required entry points and the opportunity to make math errors when completing a return by hand. The cost of the license is very reasonable in that it takes the stress out of a very painful annual experience!
What's great about it: Q & A method assures nothing is missed. IRS code is always changing.
What's not so great: E-Filing fees should be included in software price.

Have used Turbo Tax for years. Once you use it and go through it once, it is very useful in completing subsequent returns as it uploads information from your previous return and lets you update only what you need. It looks for errors and gives you an IRS probability for an audit. E:file or print and mail your returns. Your choice. Nice and easy, just the way we like it.
What's great about it: Very easy and user friendly. Reasonably priced when compared to tax preparers.
What's not so great: None
