I wish it was easier to transfer information from last year from saved records to this years from online turbotax. They are both turbo tax but they are not interchangeable. Only other issue I had this year was when ever I entered an answer I then had to scroll down to click on enter instead of just hitting enter on my keypad.
What's great about it: Does a thorough job looking for deductions
What's not so great: If you bought a CD last year you can not change to online unless you want to reenter all your info again
I have used TurboTax for several years now and it is an excellent service. It is super easy, accurate and fast. It checks everything for you and double checks it. I highly recommend this product to the first time novice user or those of you that have complicated returns.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy and Accurate!!
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
T T keeps carrying K-1s forever. One cannot simply say "I don't have on as we can with INT, DIV, etc. I wasted an hour trying to file. Do you people not file your own returns??
2nd -- How about a T T for some one who knows how to file so I don't have to put up with all the minutiae in your program. I can use a stubby pencil faster than Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Some years ago I had some K-1s. Now I can't file !! Not a happy camper.
For the most part, the software helps to simplify the chore of doing taxes. It was especially helpful this year for adding in the moving expenses we incurred. It would be helpful to have a way to itemize some complex deductions like moving expenses more - offer a spreadsheet behind some entries for example. also, as I updated my deductions on ItsDeductible, I had to re-enter information every time I did an update - it should be able to remember what was entered previously and at least confirm it rather than force re-entry.
What's great about it: Well organized and easy to follow
What's not so great: Weak link with ItsDeductible
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
