No Medical Deduction?

I paid 10% in medical expenses, yet none of it is used to reduce my tax bill. Does not seem right.

TurboTax saves your information from the previous year, so my 2013 taxes were quick and easy to file. Audit Defense gives me peace of mind. Looking forward to that confirmation email.

Federal and State Tax Refunds

I have used Turbo Tax since I started filing my taxes. It is a great tool and myself and my family enjoy using the application. One recommendation that I have is to improve your ability to track your progress thought each tabs. For example, the Federal Taxes tab has 5 different sections. When you enter the Wages and Income area, you walk though the different questions based on the different sections within the Wages and Income area. There is no way to tell where you are in the process of the Wages and Income area. I recommend that a left hand window bar be adds to the screen. What this bar will do will identify where you are in the section. For example, if you are being asked questions about 1099 MISC and other common income, the window bar on the left hand side provides out the outline of the area, and bold the sections you have already completed (e.g. Wages and Salaries, Unemployment,) and indents the section you are on, and leaves the rest of the sections (e.g. Interest and Dividends) in a grey shaded font. You then know where you are in the Wages and Income area and what information is needed before you complete that area.
What's great about it: I like the fact it walked you though step by step in each of the areas for income and deductions
What's not so great: Couldn't switch between donation cagetories without saving the information.

Get's better every year

I've used Turbo Tax for over 10 years now and they keep making it better and easier to use.

Frist time I filled out the information. In previous years my husband completed. Turbo Tax is easy to use and our tax returns were done in a quick 3 hours

Your software is absolutely the best on the market

I have tried other methods of filing my 1040 return each year. My sons talked me into trying Turbo-Tax, and this is my 5th year to file with Turbo-Tax. You have complete instructions that, even though I have a degree in Accounting, I have complete faith in the accuracy of my return. My brother-in-law is a CPA, and he insists on filing the long form without assistance from software or other assistance; if he would try Turbo-Tax, I'm sure he would throw away his pencil and the many pages of notes (and his calculator) and take life easier with complete confidence in your software. All my sons have college degrees in Business, so I have urged them to use your software and save the expense of hiring a CPA or tax firm to prepare their 1040 tax return. After trying Turbo-Tax just once, they won't file their 1040's any other way. Neither will I!!!!!!
What's great about it: The deductions section is so complete and helpful

This is an easy and great way to do taxes. After the 1st time, you know exactly what you will need so each subsequent year gets easier and easier. So nice not to have to pay someone to do what I just did.
