Been using TurboTax since my brother in law turned me on to it several years ago. TurboTax makes the unpleasant and often confusing activity of filing your taxes simple. Always get some of my money back and rarely takes me more than an hour to complete the return and file.
What's great about it: Use TruboTax every year even helped me with my Mom's 1041
I've used Turbotax for years because of its eas of use. I was very pleased with the addition of a stock sale (once in ten years). The basic program handled it with ease and guided me through the process with no problems.
What's great about it: Very straight-forward, Just answer the questions.
What's not so great: Took a long time to get the federal form for the stock sale
I've used TurboTax for about 20 years, it is simply the best tax program out there. My time was cut in half! TurboTax imported all my dependents, all my financial data, and I finished my taxes in No Time!
What's great about it: Easy importing of previous year's data
I always find TurboTax to be good, easy to install and run and I seem to get through my taxes each year with a minimum of stress. This year was not different. Although every year there is always something new that needs a little extra work. This year I had some trouble getting form 2441, Child Care Cost to complete correctly. As always I got it to complete correctly after about 30 minutes of messing around.
I've used Turbo Tax to file my taxes for the last few years. I always found it easy and the software pretty good.
This year's version found a way to completely lose a return on my computer and has frozen up multiple times. It seems like the software design and user interface could use improvement. The arrow down button doesn't work when trying to scroll down and there are just several other interface issues that could be improved on so you don't have to use the scroll bar.
What's great about it: Guides you through your return
What's not so great: Software is clunky and has given me a few problems
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments
Underpayment of estimated Income tax IT-2105.9 did not give me credit automatically for paying before April 15, although I had entered my payment date of 03/25/2014. Only with the excellent help of the telephone Intuit person, was I able to get my credit added to line 23, IT-2105.9
What's great about it: entry of income and expenses
