Into the Abyss

I may go to an accountant next year.
What's great about it: Methodical. Comprehensive. For the most part, easy to use.
What's not so great: HSA. MSA. Everything else connected to health care expenses.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax was simple to do and walked me right thru the whole process. Will use Turbo Tax again next year.

What's not so great: Scary to do- I hate all the Mickey Mouse rules-NOT Turbo Tax, the Government.

Doing TurboTax update should NOT affect input data

I lost all data since my last save when an S/W update was processed. Any update should first ask if data save has been taken - to make sure that data is NOT lost! I lost hours figuring out what I was missing and then adding the data in.
What's great about it: I liked the way it goes about making sure data can be entered
What's not so great: I lost!!

I really enjoyed the easy to understand questions. It took a miserable experience and made it a quick and easy chore!

I believe the software should be better at helping me find deductions for my tax return. I was not pleased with the final amount. Also, the software should provide at least one free e-file for state taxes, especially since the federal government already provides a free federal e-file.
What's great about it: Somewhat easy to use
What's not so great: I'm not pleased with my tax return

What a Relief!

The whole process was fine - logical and complete. The only negative was that some items, namely those associated with our Sched C, were only addressed in the review instead of being included with the Sched. C preparation.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step process was great!
What's not so great: Some items were left till last

quick and easy

When filing multiple states, it caused a lot of anxiety to have to stop mid-primary state and complete non-resident state. It also showed us owing a considerable amount until the non-resident portion was completed. It would have been comforting to see a little notice that this may not be the final result in the refund/deficit column. Otherwise...great!
