Enabled me again to be a "do-it-yourselfer"

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. It always turned out that my returns were correct without any problems from the IRS.
What's great about it: The friendly tone that made me feel at ease to do my taxes.
What's not so great: The help pages were often confusing

2013 Taxes

Filling out my taxes was not a problem.
This is the second year that I can't pay with my credit card.
First I got a certificate error, not from my end.
Then when I tried to file my state return it would not let me.
I kept getting an error.

I had to file my state taxes by mail.
This made my whole experience very dissatisfied.
I will not even try to file my state returns electronically again next year and avoid all of this frustration.

Essential tool for taxes

I couldn't imagine doing my taxes without Turbo Tax. Transferring info from previous years and downloading tax information from some of my accounts really helps, especially since I tend to transpose numbers. I did have an odd one this year where I got into a loop where the same screens kept repeating as I hit continue, so I had to use the tab at the top to move forward. It was a minor point of confusion for a minute.
What's great about it: Thorough and easy
What's not so great: can get confused if you deviate from the script

Fast and Easy

TurboTax is fast and easy. Of course, the first step is to gather all your information before you begin. The next step is to load the program then follow the filng steps and if you e-file the federal and state, you are completely done in an afternoon. Your return is prepared for less than the cost of having it done professionally. So it like getting another refund.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: When installing I always forget to end program that automatically load on my desk top. ie weather, time & news feed

Easy to understand

Unless you have gigantic expenses, the standard deduction will probably make most of this unnecessary ,but you won't know that until you go through the steps. Here are the things you'll need:
Gather up all of the envelopes that got mailed to you for tax time.
Gather up all of your medical expenses, including premiums.
Figure out how many miles you traveled for medical or education.
Big purchases? Get the paperwork in front of you.
Calculator comes in handy to add up miles, and costs that came from several locations.
Bought a hybrid car? Too bad! The tax credit for that is a thing of the past.

What's great about it: Easy to move through, great explanations, tells you what paperwork you need, double-checked for errors
What's not so great: On occasion, something wasn't explained that I would've like more info on. No biggie, though
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax found 5 or 6 entries that I had omitted. Saved me almost $700.
What's great about it: Loved the step-by-step entries

Simple and easy

I really like TurboTax very much and have used it for many years. My only complaint is that it is not user friendly to review what you've done (already provided input) without having to update / re-input some items.
What's great about it: Questionaire entry system
What's not so great: Review not so easy

My son filed our tax return in 1 hour and then we enjoyed a home cooked Sunday meal after church! This is what life is all about!
