Alimony includes more than cash payments and a detailed worksheet to help collect the other legitimate deductions would have been helpful. Also, I was charged twice this year for Turbo Tax and no notice was given that I had already paid once. I am still trying to figure out who to write to get this refunded or applied to the 2014 Turbo Tax software.
What's great about it: Step by step very good
What's not so great: Believe there should have been a detailed worksheet to calculate alimony.
I was getting an error message that Schedule A for state sales tax forms were not available. Could not find response on Intuits site, could not find link for "chat" option when FAQ did not offer answer, software did not auto update as it has in the past. State Sales Tax Forms were to be available last of December 2013, I finally thought of running manual update, forms were found and several updates were installed, then the return or revisit state taxes kept coming up, even after the forms were updated and state tax deduction was calculated. This was anoining, Help site needs extensive work.
What's great about it: Easy to Use and Detailed Results
What's not so great: Intuit Support Site very un-user friendly
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I've been using TT for many years. Never had a single question it didn't answer. Had some things questioned once by the IRS, but that had nothing to do with TT. Great resource for a busy family.
What's great about it: Makes filing my taxes so very easy
First time through it asked about state automobile registration fees which I didn't have at hand. Going back later I could not find where to enter that information. Help search was no help!
