I like the fact that my personal information can be downloaded from previous tax form into the present year's form. I always use the form where they ask you the questions and the experts fill in the blanks. It is easy to go back over the forms and change information if you need to. It is easier still if you keep the information needed in a file as it comes in during the year. I used to try to fill out the tax forms myself. This is so much easier and faster. It is also cheaper that have a professional tax preparer file your taxes. I will never use anything else to do my taxes.
What's great about it: I don't have to look up all the laws regarding the tax laws. Turbo Tax does that for you making filing fast and easy!!
What's not so great: I did not find any cons with Turbo Tax when filing my tax forms.
All in all, a simple way to file taxes. I don't have a great deal of forms to fill out: basic forms, itemized deductions and employee expenses and it was fairly simple to complete the process.
What's great about it: Appears to be a bit more streamlined than previous versions
What's not so great: A few bugs when using the Back button
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
Filing my California State return, the refund was pretty small so it wasn't worth the extra charge to E-File it. So I chose to mail the forms. However, when I printed the State tax forms, the banking info was left off the form. If I asked for direct deposit, the form should take the banking info provided for the Fed and put it on the State return automatically or at least ask if I want it direct deposited.
What's great about it: Help system is very intuitive
What's not so great: California return didn't print bank info
