Very Easy

I have used TTax for several years and have found it to be excellent!!!!
What's great about it: Very simple to follow, especially e-filing.

Not as easy as could be

The error check did not take me to the root cause of the detected error. It indicated that the royalty payments on the K-1 needed to be filed as a separate property, even though the entry was $0.00. This left me to search and find the root cause on my own which was long and frustrating. I have used TurboTax for many years and will most likely continue using TurboTax, but I just need to start much earlier to absorb the time needed for these kinds of frustrating delays to my tax preparation.
What's great about it: Explanations of the various terms and categories in the return
What's not so great: Error review did not take me to the root cause of the problem

Turbo Tax

I have previously had great results in using Turbo-tax software. Unfortunately, this year due to a few glinches in the system, I was forced to mail my returns rather than e-file them as I normally do. The preparation and assimilation of information was still easier than long hand. I intend to use it again next year and encourage others to do so.
What's great about it: Easily accessible, thorough, navigation is quick, review and edits are great checks.
What's not so great: Inability to efile for the first time in using the system. Inability to get on-line assistance on 3/22/14.

complete but slow

As a CPA I use the forms method to enter my data. The system is not always intuitive in finding some of the input screens and rather than entering data on a line on teh form a box opens to enter the data.
My # 1 complaint is how slow the product is to open on my computer
What's great about it: The program seems very complete - like the 1099 download feature
What's not so great: VERY SLOW TO OPEN
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's Not to Like!

I've used Turbo Tax for years and I continue to be a big fan. It has totally taken the pain out of filing process. However, it does not take the pain out seeing exactly how much we must pay to live in the US.
What's great about it: Simple, quick and painless
What's not so great: It can't read my mind. :-)

Just barely satisfied

I think every year is becoming more time consuming to download the necessary updates. Not to mention the so many tries I did before I was able to actually download the updates, which took me more than two hours to get done.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: It takes more than two hours to download and install the necessary updates. That's way too long.

I feel confident that I will be able to accurately complete our tax returns with Turbo Tax. I like how it brings information forward from prior year and then guides you though all of the sections to properly enter the correct information.
What's great about it: Error check catches mistakes

Lost Everything I Entered

I got an "ERROR 107" while trying to save my final return and could not exit program. After a minute or two program closed and all of my work was lost. Had to completely redo return. I saved after every couple of steps this time. Lesson learned, DO NOT TRUST PROGRAM TO KEEP DATA.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Auto-save periodically during entry
