I had to spend more time preparing my return involving jumping around to up date entries. There must be an easier way to speed up the processing the entry data.
What's not so great: E- filing is confusing when back tracking to make changes
Turbo Tax is a mature program that deals with the incredibly complex tax system decently well. When I went to e-file my returns, it wouldn't let me until I downloaded updates, which I dutifully did. Still wouldn't work. I posted my problem to the "community", whatever that is, and read an answer that I needed to "empty the trash" and restart my computer. One reason I use a MAC is so that I don't have to restart like I did with Windows. It finally worked but I'm amazed that Intuit can't solve such a basic problem. I'll look at competitors next year. By the way, I'm a retired CPA,
What's great about it: Program seemed to do what it was supposed to generally
What's not so great: Had to go through ridiculous hoops to do exile on my mac.
It was my first time. I usually have a professional CPA do my taxes this year I decided to take my chances. With the cost of the program and state e-file I save almost $80.00. I will be doing turbo taxing my taxes from now on.
