I like using this porgram because it is reasonably detailed and does all the calculations for me. On top of that it checks for likelihood of an audit. It makes a painful process a bit less onerous.
What's great about it: checks for all possible deductions & checks accuracy
What's not so great: who wants to pay taxes?!

Turbo Tax makes it simple

Turbo Tax left me with calculation errors on my state form for 2 previous years. The first time I made the correction by hand and mailed in a paper form (I don't e-file state). Last year I mailed in the Turbo Tax state form as is - printed directly from the program without double checking it. CO State Revenue Dept sent me notification that they found an error and reduced my Turbo Tax calculated refund to $2.00 - a difference of $83! It's never nice to get a letter from the Revenue dept. so I never e-file state and I've learned to double and triple check it. Also the state refund income in my Fed tax form had to be corrected manually this year to compensate for the Turbo Tax error last year as well. So it would be SUPER if Turbo Tax would improve their state calculations and forms - if I could go 3 yrs without state errors, I might start to trust Turbo Tax state forms again.
Also, having only a bulletin board for customer service/help is a real dissatisfier - when you are trying to prepare your taxes and have a question you need help NOW not later sometime via bulletin board post... For this price, I EXPECT real time customer chat or hotline - if not 24/7, then 8 hrs/day at least Mon - Sat. AT THE VERY LEAST.
What's great about it: Easy step by step process - anyone can do it!
What's not so great: State forms aren't as accurate

Easy Complete and awesome Results

Although the Intuit TurboTax experiences generally is true to the companies name (Intuit as Intuitive) I got a little lost when .Net 40 was being installed / "Fixed".
However, the tax return experience was easier and more complete than I expected. And I was surprised at the Refund I got back
What's great about it: Review was easy and Complete
What's not so great: Had a little trouble with the downloads and install workflow

I have used Turbo Tax numerous years. Each year gets easier and faster. Step by step guidance is easy to understand and takes you down the most beneficial path. If you do need clarification on any topics, help references are available and easy to understand. I appreciate the automatic transfer of last years data as this cuts down significantly on preparation time. The auto transfer of data from Federal to State is also very helpful. The Quality Control and Accuracy checks at the end give me peace of mind that my taxes have been done right. It's nice to know that I don't have to be a tax expert or utilize a tax preparation service to get my taxes done.
