There was no place to enter last years taxable amount. My prepayments exceeded last years taxes so no penalty was due. This resulted your (incorrectly) adding an underpayment penalty with no way to correct it, but since the penalty was small, I elected to pay it and file to get it over with. I normally use H&R Block software. They are easier to use and cost less.
We'll always Gooooo Turbo! Helps us figure out how much more funds we need to put towards our kids futures. Love the program. Though, this year I was surprised by an unexpected situation where we had the government taxing money while out of work due to medical reasons.
What's great about it: Exploration of all options, Ease of use, Auto fill in from previous yrs.
What's not so great: For help, we do not like internet explorer!!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
i have never had trouble installing/using TT but this year their were problems with some type of error for certain systems. had to go to other web sites to get fix was a problem for me if you are not real savvy on systems fix should have been on program/ disc other than that worked like it always does very nice
What's not so great: had trouble installing error code 1603
I have used Turbo Tax about 5 years now and each year it seems to work better and easier for me. Transferring the previous year's data saves much time.
What's great about it: Clear, easy to follow, explanatory articles attached
Easy to use, but couldn't figure out how to record tax exempt earning from interest and dividends on the Maryland return. Had to manually do the state return.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Issue with recording tax exempt earnings on state return
