Careful of the hidden charges at the end!!

This is the 3rd year that i have had problems w/Turbotax - I will never use it again - I had multiple glitches last year & honestly, i feel cheated w/all the hidden charges that piled on in the last few steps - never again & I will caution others!!
What's not so great: Far too Complicated & Expensive!!

Disapppointed in this years software

I was very disappointed that this years version was much less user friendly. It did not prompt me to update the software ever... and it clearly needed to be updated. I live in a state without state income tax, so I can claim sales tax. When I added the sales tax paid for a vehicle purchase and went back later to check, it was not shown. I entered it again thinking it was lost, but then discovered that I had counted it twice. Was able to fix it, but it would have been VERY easy to miss.
I have used Turbo Tax for many years and this is the worst version I have seen. Would like to continue to use it, but if next years isn't a whole lot better I will move on.
What's great about it: Easy to import last years data
What's not so great: DId not prompt for updates and was easy to make mistakes

I absolutely love Turbo Tax! I wouldn't think of using another software product!

Wish I could get some tips on how to save money for the next year. When I see how much I paid, I could hae made some adjustments before January 1.
I liked the Affordable Care Act updates.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: doesn't include tax prep for next year

Easy to be a Pro

I have a few tax issues I don't care to do the math for or try to remember all the deductions. TurboTax does it for me with the Step by Step method. With it, I don't have to remember anything except to buy it. It even fills in the background from last years TurboTax.
What's great about it: You don't have to remember, it takes you where you need to go.
What's not so great: Sometimes it could use a little more explanation why it's doing what it is.

Much Easier Than I Thought

I had a more complicated return this year because of dividends. When I started working on the forms by hand, I just got more and more confused. It was then that I decided to buy TurboTax Deluxe. What a snap! Not only was the process easy, I definitely maximized my Federal return by itemizing and getting deductions for paying property taxes that I had missed in past years. I would have payed a tax professional at least 3 times what TurboTax cost! I loved the access to my bank and investment accounts!
What's great about it: All calculations including AMT are done for you. Process is a matter of answering simple questions.
