This was really a pleasure. We have some crazy forms and confusing filing forms here in VT and Turbo Tax made this a snap. Saves so much time and effort.
What's great about it: Liked getting 2012 records side by side.
What's not so great: should show how much more income would bring me into taxable status. would like to know how will affect next year's
I sweat by Turbo tax but did have problem this year with efile. had refund coming and elected to deduct sate processing fee from refund and it would not process. Went to support site as message suggested and really did not get any help. Went back and paid processing fee with credit card and it processed finally.
What's great about it: Very dtailed and easy to use
What's not so great: had problem efiling went to support site and did not get any help
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
Overall this program is easy to use and provides quite a bit of good solid help and info on most topics. Some help could be written in a more simple manner vice just providing reference to Government publications [eg can a motor home be claimed as a second home for tax purposes] Product referred me to Pub 936 I read through this several times to determine that as long as it contains sleeping, cooking and toilet facilities it can be considered a qualified home. It would have been easier just to have this explanation in the software help.
What's great about it: Generally Straight forward Help on questions I had.
What's not so great: Sometimes help only extended to quoting IRS info
I rolled some regular IRA Assets over to a Roth IRA. On the first pass, I missed answering a question right that would ask me about the rollover to a Roth. Realizing it never did, I went back, checked the other box, and it asked me about it.
On a few sections, I didn't have anything on it, but it asked me if I was ready to enter my information, and there was not an option of continuing because I didn't have any information. That wasn't the normal TurboTax flow.
What's great about it: Good flow through pages
What's not so great: IRA Rollover and a few questions
